Hong Kong Journalists Association (HKJA) Freedom of Expression Reports

About the Hong Kong Journalists Association (HKJA):

The HKJA is an internationally recognized voice on press freedom in Hong Kong. Our annual report is widely regarded as a definitive statement on the state of Hong Kong’s freedom of expression. It is widely circulated about foreign consulates and NGOs, and is quoted often in foreign media reports about Hong Kong.

At Home, we are constantly on the offensive against barriers to news coverage, such as legislation that suffocates the free flow of information and the public’s right to know.

We also seek to raise professional standards, organising seminars and workshops to improve reporting skills and keep members informed of developments in the profession. We also organise overseas tours to places where news is breaking, to enable members to get on-the-ground knowledge of major events.
